From Technical Expert to Strategic Leader: Systems Thinking for Organizational Transformation (LEAD-540)
Description
Every organization struggles with “how they do what they do.”
Become the “go-to” individual with the superpower to move the organization forward: to do what it does better than ever before, from wherever you are. This RPI ProCourse provides a 6-component framework for analyzing your organization’s operating and value creation model and then teaches you to apply a Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats (SWOT) model to the 6 components, so you can take a structured look at your organization and find where improvements can be made. Successful completion is signified with a Certificate of Completion and digital credential from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Project Overview
Through a course-long project, you will engage with tangible tools and explore perspectives to apply immediately to your workplace context. You'll complete the following:
- Map your organization’s value creation process
- Explore a structured approach to evaluating and improving each part of that process
- Identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats across all six components
- Develop actionable, innovative recommendations you can pitch to leadership
Technology & Logistics
You will complete all coursework through RPI's digital classroom environment, with feedback provided by your course mentor along the way. The coursework will primarily be self-paced.
Audience
This non-credit course is designed for individuals who want to increase their impact at work beyond their technical expertise and who seek career growth. No prior education is required.
Payment
Payment is accepted via credit card only. Refunds (minus processing fees) may be issued up to the course’s official start date. After the course has begun, refunds are no longer available.
