Description

During this six-week RPI ProCourse, delivered digitally, you will learn how to coach employees to enhance their performance effectively. The course will focus on improving time management, delegation, and providing constructive feedback. You will use a simulation to gain hands-on experience preparing and leading coaching engagements, addressing common challenges, and refining coaching techniques. By the end of the course, you will have a solid coaching framework that you can apply in your organization to help employees succeed. You will receive a Certificate of Completion from RPI upon completing the course.

Project Overview

In this course, you will participate in a simulation designed to improve your coaching skills and enhance employee performance. You will begin by learning how to evaluate an employee's challenges in areas such as time management, delegation, and feedback. With the provided resources, you will create SMART goals tailored to address these challenges and then prepare for a coaching session by establishing goal-aligned agendas and plans.

Throughout the course, you will lead a simulated coaching process, employing best practices to ensure accountability and overcome obstacles. This will involve honing your active listening skills, delivering constructive feedback, and using specific coaching strategies to help the employee reach their goals. In the final week, the focus will be on wrapping up the coaching process by reviewing progress, giving feedback, and devising a follow-up plan to ensure continued success. By the end of the course, you will have acquired a practical coaching framework and planning documentation that can be used when coaching employees or in future coaching endeavors.

Technology & Logistics

You will complete all coursework through Rensselaer’s digital classroom environment, with feedback provided by your course mentor along the way. The coursework will primarily be self-paced, with a synchronous kickoff Zoom session during the first week of the course that will provide an opportunity to engage with the content and course mentor(s) in a live setting.

Audience

This non-credit course is designed for adult learners seeking to support team members or coachees in reaching their performance goals. No prior education is required.

Cost

The cost is $1099 per participant. Refunds (minus processing fees) may be issued up to the first day of the course’s official start date. After the course has begun, refunds are no longer available.
