Conflict Resolution (LEAD-530)


Time to Complete: 12 - 17 hours, on average

Description

In this self-paced, digitally delivered RPI ProCourse, you will assume the fictional role of a team leader at a global company, tasked with resolving critical conflicts that are hindering a crucial project. Through an interactive scenario-based experience, you will learn to apply advanced conflict resolution strategies to restore team cohesion and guide your team toward project success. You will practice navigating present challenges, addressing unresolved past tensions, and proactively preparing for future conflicts. Participants who complete the course will be awarded continuing education units (CEUs), a verified digital badge, and a Certificate of Completion from RPI. 

Coursework

Across five modules, you will participate in hands-on exercises designed to prepare you for managing a range of common workplace conflicts. Each is described below.

  • Module 1: Introduction to Conflict and Conflict Resolution Explore the basics of conflict, its characteristics, and how it can manifest in the workplace through the lens of the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument.
  • Module 2: Navigating Current and Future Conflicts – Apply RPI’s LEAD Conflict Resolution framework to navigate an ongoing conflict within a fictional scenario.
  • Module 3: Addressing Past Conflicts – Develop strategies to address unresolved issues from past conflicts and strengthen working relationships.
  • Module 4: Planning for Future Conflicts Prepare to navigate a potential conflict by developing proactive strategies.

Audience

This non-credit course is designed for adult learners seeking to enhance their skills in conflict resolution and sustaining team cohesion. No prior education is required.
